'Shades of Gray' coming soon to The Next Picture show

DIXON – The “Shades of Gray” black-and-white photography exhibition will run from March 1 to 30 at the The Next Picture Show, 113 W. First St.

The exhibition will feature more than 50 original pieces of film and digital photography by 21 artists.

A reception and awards presentation will run from 6 to 8 p.m. March 10. Al and Jeannie Brown will provide music. Erin Thompson, curator of the Dillon Home Museum, will serve as judge.

In conjunction with “Shades of Gray,” the gallery will showcase a special exhibition honoring the late Dixon artist Fran Swarbrick, who died Jan. 25. Many local people and organizations have provided art for this exhibit. The family has established a memorial to the gallery.

The gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. Admission is free; donations are welcome. Go to thenextpictureshow.org or call 815-285-4924 for more information.
