DIXON – The Late Night Blues Brothers will make its triumphant return during a show with 10 of Soul at 8 p.m. April 21 at Historic Dixon Theatre, 114 S. Galena Ave.

10 of Soul is a 10-piece soul, funk, and rhythm-and-blues band that covers tunes from a wide range of artists, from Earth Wind and Fire to Bruno Mars.

The Late Night Blues Brothers has been on a 6-year hiatus, after spending years as one of the area’s most successful bands. The group is led by Mike “Elwood Blues” Venier and Bob “Jake Blues” Balayti.

The band will bring back all of the classic Blues Brothers tunes and some new ones, too.

“Patty Balayti and other old friends will also join us for this show,” Venier said in an email.

Tickets are $12 and are available at dixontheatre.ticketleap.com and Venier Jewelers, 117 W. First St.

Doors will open at 6:30. Cocktails will be served by Val’s Place.

Proceeds will help upgrade audio-visual equipment at the theater in hopes of bringing back classic movies on the weekends, and to try to better utilize the theater’s organ, which is “a pretty rare instrument throughout the country,” Venier said.
