Charles H. Vos

FULTON – Charles H. Vos, 94, of Fulton, formerly of Albany, died Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Harbor Crest Nursing Home in Fulton.

He was born Sept. 15, 1923, in Galesburg, North Dakota, to Henry and Emma Vos. He married Lois Harvey on March 28, 1952, in Albany. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2016. He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. Charles farmed for many years, retiring in January 1986. He was a member of Albany United Methodist Church and the Whiteside County Farm Bureau. Charles had the honor of participating in the Honor Flight.

Survivors include his daughters, Karen (Francis) Frederick of Rock Falls, Marilyn (Gary) White of Bettendorf, Iowa, LuAnn Vos of Morrison, and Nancy (Tom) Hook of Morrison; his sons, Raymond (Lisa) Vos of Chadwick and Randall (Deb) Vos of Sterling; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Margaret Johnson; and a brother, Richard Vos.

He also was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Judith Vos; his brothers, Martin, Emery, Harold, and William Vos; a sister, Evelyn; and two sisters in infancy.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. and the funeral at 11 a.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Fulton, with Bob Douglas officiating. Burial will be at Lusk Cemetery in Albany.

A memorial has been established in his memory to the Honor Flight of the Quad Cities or the Albany Fire Department.
