ROCK FALLS – Tom E. Denham, age 79, died Friday, August 16, 2019 at CGH Medical Center.
Tom was born on April 6, 1940 in Sterling, IL the son of Tom and June (Reiger) Denham.
He married Frances Harman on February 2, 1973 in Rock Falls, IL.

He retired from Northwestern Steel and Wire in 1995 after 32 years of being a pipefitter and brick layer.
Tom was an avid gardener, people would drive by just to see the tulips in the spring, which made the front page of the paper twice. He also always had a box out on the sidewalk of free veggies for anyone in need. His passion was evident around the house and in the lot across the street from their house. Tom and Fran were active members of the American Red Cross and volunteered in disaster relief for 10 years. When they started to volunteer they wanted to do their part to help those in need as their son was serving in the Navy also. They traveled to New York City after 9/11 to assist in disaster relief efforts. Tom spent a lot of his retirement time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also loved a good bargain, always couponing, sending in rebates and going to garage sales.
