AMBOY – Janice A Schusler, age 82 of Amboy died Friday Feb. 28, 2020 at the home of her daughter, surrounded by her family, following a long illness. 

She was born Nov. 21, 1937 in Aurora, IL, the daughter of Alfred and Louise (Gardner) Schusler. Janice worked as a waitress at Pheasant Run Resort , Saint Charles IL, The Viking Inn, Winfield, IL , Alison’s Bar and Restaurant, Batavia IL, and Dick’s Vending, along with Waubansee Community College.

Janice enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, bingo and caring for the neighborhood animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Louise Schusler, 1 sister, Allene Schick, and 3 brothers Keith,Jerry and Fredrick “Fritzi” Schusler.

She is survived by children Kevin Kaelin of Amboy,IL Keith (Linda) Kaelin of Sandwich, IL, Jerilyn Kaelin Amboy, IL, Jodee Armbrust, Mendota and Scot Armbrust of San Antonio, TX; 12 grandchildren, Rick (Kelly) Kaelin, Luke Kaelin, Jason Kaelin, Ryan Kaelin, Dan Todd, Brandy Rodriguez, Jameson Kaelin, Jenna (Chuck) Austin, Kyle Armbrust, Jared Kaelin, Tim Patlin, and Julia Johnson; and 5 great-grandchildren, Evelyn, Carter, Sarah, Anna, and Liara.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday March 4, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. at St Patrick Catholic Church in Amboy. Burial will follow at River Hills Memorial Park in Batavia. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

A memorial has been established to Serenity Hospice and Home. Arrangements by the Mihm-Jones Funeral Home in Amboy. Condolences may be sent online at www.thejonesfh.com
